Relay Information for the Miwok 100k Presented by The North Face

The relay is a fun way to participate in the Miwok 100K by forming a 4-person team to cover the same 100K course. The course is divided into four segments of approximately 26, 9.5, 14, and 13 miles.

  • Leg #1: 26 miles (The longest leg). Begins at the start line, heads south to Bridge View, and returns to Tennessee Valley for the second time.
  • Leg #2: 9.5 miles (The shortest leg). Takes off from Tennessee Valley and heads North up Mt. Tam to Cardiac. The substantial climbing makes up for the short distance.
  • Leg #3: 14 miles. Takes over at Cardiac, traverses the beautiful Coastal Trail, and ends at the Randall aid station.
  • Anchor Leg #4: 13 miles. Takes the team home from Randall back to Stinson Beach.

Top Tips for Relay Success:

  1. Getting to the exchange points may take a little while, given the nature of the roads and traffic. We recommend planning to be at the aid station for your hand-off at least 30 minutes ahead of your runner’s projected finish time.
  2. Consider turning on your location on, so your team knows when to expect you.
  3. Plan to pack snacks and dry clothes for your runners as they finish up their legs. Runner 1 will have to wait a few hours for runner 4 to cross the finish line. Bonus points for throwing in a foam roller or trigger point ball, too.
  4. Be sure to review the pacing/cutoff information ahead of time. You can find that information here.
  5. Make sure your team is waiting as you cross the finish line- those photos are priceless.
